Interactive whiteboards are slightly more expensive than regular whiteboards and much more expensive than chalkboards.One can't use just any marker for interactive whiteboards. There are markers which are specially designed for whiteboards.A wrong marker can infact damage the surface of the whiteboard permanently by leaving permanent ink marks on its surface.


One thing that can be done to remove such marks is to use whiteboards cleaning sprays which are available in the market. You can also wipe the whiteboard with alcohol or acetone.However best thing is to use those markers which come with removable ink. Another disadvantge of interactive whiteboard is the contrast. The shiny surface of the whiteboard prevents some students to see the entire whiteboard. This can be a real problem for students with vision problem. The whiteboard markers generally have a strong odour which can create problems for those who are allergic or sensitive to strong smells.
